Music  is one of the fairest and most glorious gifts of God — Martin Luther

Our contemporary worship service includes a band of elite professional musicians led by Ms. Susie Thorne, our Music Director. Ms. Thorne, a professional jazz singer, is the lead vocalist. Her ability to arrange music has captured the hearts of those attending the contemporary worship service.

Our traditional worship music service is led by Organist and Choirmaster Michael Bauer, D.M.A. In addition to his responsibilities at St. Andrew’s, Mr. Bauer is a Professor of Organ and Church Music at the University of Kansas, a published author, and a recitalist. The beauty and richness of the choir and instrumental music our 10:30 Sunday service reaches the depths of our hearts and enriches the worship experience for every person in attendance.

Our vibrant Children’s music program is led by Ms. Shelly Smith, our Children’s Music Director. Ms. Smith is an elementary music teacher, and her love of music and children is an inspiration to us all. The children of St. Andrew’s receive instruction on conga drums, hand drums, xylophones and glockenspiels and they periodically enhance our services with their musical offerings. They also perform in a Christmas Pageant and in Youth Sunday services.

Our handbell choir is led by Ms. Kara Eddy, a local music educator. Our three-octave set of handbells are always a special treat and complement our worship at various times throughout the year. They are especially prominent during special seasonal and holiday services.

On holy days like Christmas and Easter, our music includes contributions from other area professional instrumentalists, and the Omaha Pipes and Drums rehearses and teaches (lessons are free!) at St. Andrew's every Saturday.
