The Seasons of Advent and Christmas are not the happiest times of the year for everyone.  The Blue Mass is a quiet and prayerful service that recognizes our losses, our struggles, our sadness and our hope during these seasons which can be painful for many people.  It is a candlelight service with music and poetry.  This service acknowledges the things in our lives that can steal our Christmas joy helps us to remember the hope that our Savior promises to us.

During the Season of Advent, a candlelight service of Lessons and Carols, featuring the St. Andrew’s choir, is held at St. Andrew’s.  A reception follows for a time of fellowship.  This lovely service provides appropriate observation of the Season of Advent which is so often rolled into the Season of Christmas.

The St. Andrew’s Youth (SAY) prepares a breakfast of pancakes, sausage and lots of hot coffee to honor the law enforcement officers who help keep all of us safe in Omaha.

The choirs of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, All Saints Episcopal Church, and Trinity Cathedral will join together for the annual celebration of Evensong that has occurred on the first Sunday of Lent for the past 13 years. Evensong is the quintessential musical service in the Anglican tradition. There will be a reception following the service. Everyone at St. Andrew’s is invited to join us for this special commemoration of the Lenten season.

Please contact us at the link below if you would like to attend or if you as a parent would be willing to help. We hope you can attend!!

For one more day you can shop to your heart’s content and find treasures in the St. Andrew’s annual Odds and Ends Sale.  Volunteers work tirelessly sorting, organizing and pricing the hundreds of items donated for this event.  Funds raised from the sale support our commitment to Habitat for Humanity to build a home, to support our mission trips to the Dominican Republic, to provide lunch monthly for the Omaha Street School, and other mission and outreach activities.
