This year we’re recognizing the 40th Anniversary of the beloved prayer service composed by Marty Haugen. Haugen wrote the service in the winter of 1985–1986 during a musical residency at Holden Village. This simple and beautiful worship service follows traditional form while using contemporary and inclusive language.
Even though geography may separate us, by singing and saying the same words together in this world-wide celebration, we connect with people everywhere in offering ancient-yet-modern prayers for peace and justice.
St. Andrew’s member Benji Pettiford will be at the piano. At our 5 PM Saturday service he’ll be joined with member Margo Trofholz on othe flute. At our 9 AM and 10:30 AM Sunday services Kevin Tompkins, principal second violinist with the Omaha Symphony, will join Benji.
