Welcome to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church! St. Andrew's is a place where people come together for worship services, community events, classes, meetings, concerts, celebrations, and other activities. This guide will help you become familiar with the building and some of the things you may see, hear, and experience during your visit. Every visit can be unique, and every person experiences St. Andrew's in their own way.
When I arrive at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, I will park in the parking lot. There are many parking spaces available, including accessible parking spaces near the entrance. Depending on the event, there may be many people arriving or only a few. There are sidewalks that lead from the parking lot to the church entrance. As I walk to the building, I may see other people arriving, talking with one another, or making their way inside.
I will enter through the main doors, shown in the photo at left. After I enter St. Andrew's, I will be in the lobby.
People may be talking with one another, waiting for an event to begin, or helping visitors find where they need to go. If I have questions or need assistance, I can ask a staff member or volunteer.
The sanctuary is the largest room in the church. Worship services and some special events take place here. This is where I will go for the worship service.
There are rows of pews where people sit. Depending on the event, I may hear music, singing, speaking, or moments of quiet reflection. If I need to step out for a break, I can return whenever I am ready.
St. Anne's Chapel is a quiet space within the church. Some people use this room for prayer, reflection, or quiet time. I can choose to spend a few quiet moments here if that's what I need.
A nursery is available for infants and young children during some worship services and events. It is located near the Fellowship Hall. My family is welcome to use the nursery during our visit.
Restrooms are located in the fellowship hall just outside the main church. If I don't know where they are, I can ask a staff member or volunteer for directions.
There is also a restroom for little children in the nursery.
The Fellowship Hall is a gathering space where I can meet people before or after events or worship. It may also be used for meals, classes, meetings, celebrations, and community events. Sometimes this room is quiet. Other times there may be many people talking, laughing, eating, or moving around. The room may look different depending on the event or activity taking place.
There is a playground and a picnic table in the backyard. I can relax and have fun there before or after the service.
St. Andrew's wants everyone to feel welcome and comfortable. During my visit, I can:
If I need a break, I can quietly leave and return when I am ready.
Depending on the event, I might notice:
Some events are very quiet, while others are more active and social.
The worship service bulletins are designed to make things easy to follow along with. Everything I need is in the bulletin, and I can check off each part of the service if I want to. The songs are easy and fun for me to sing along if I want.
The Episcopal Church retains the historic worship, prayers, and structure of the early Church. We model our ministry on the first 300 years of Christianity. We are people who strive to follow Jesus and love God with our whole heart, soul, and mind, and love our neighbors as ourselves (Matthew 22:36-40). We believe Jesus welcomes all to follow His loving, liberating, life-giving Way. We seek to follow Him with our whole lives: our prayer, worship, teaching, preaching, gathering, healing, action, family, work, play, and rest. In all things, we seek to be loving, liberating and life-giving.
This is not a slogan, but a reflection of what we believe Jesus teaches us and the core of the movement Jesus began in the first century. The Episcopal Church welcomes all. Everyone! As the Episcopal branch of the Jesus Movement today, we are committed to honor the covenant and promises we make in our Baptism: To proclaim by word and example the Good News of God in Christ; to seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving our neighbor as ourselves; to strive for justice and peace among all people, and to respect the dignity of every human being. We believe that God loves you—no exceptions. We welcome everyone to find God’s presence here and to join us in Christ’s work of love, reconciliation, and service in the world.
St. Andrew’s is the first faith-based COMPASS Partner with Autism Action Partnership, with All God’s Children, our new Sensory-Friendly Worship service. All God's Children is a monthly worship experience specifically designed to honor and support neurodivergent individuals of all ages. Worship services are on the third Sunday of each month at 1:00 PM. Through our COMPASS Partnership with Autism Action Partnership (AAP), we have pledged a parish-wide commitment to inclusion, utilizing AAP’s specialized training and consultation to transform our worship space into a welcoming and enriching environment for people of all abilities. All God’s Children offers a quiet, beautiful, and flexible worship setting.
The service features:
Fr. Keith says, “Too many individuals and families who live with sensory sensitivities have been unintentionally left on the margins of worship and community life. Our hope is simple: to build a gathering where neighbors who may have felt 'church isn’t for us' can find fellowship, encouragement, and real community—to bring people together not just for a service, but for ongoing support and belonging. This is another key step in our goal to Draw the Circle of God's abundant love wider and wider.”
