The first fall is to his knees. I do not see an aloof Son of God who is distant and condescending. I see my brother. He was ground into the dirt he crafted with his own hands. The burden of our torture, sin, and injustice bring him to his knees. I heard of something called the Omnipotence Paradox. It asks if God can create a weight He cannot lift. I believe the answer is to be found here in this mystery. His torn flesh is overwhelmed, as often, are we. We follow him by getting back up and continuing forward with Him in trust and hope.
Do not fear: I am with you; do not be anxious: I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand. Isaiah 41:10
